Let's see now... an evolving mix of an idealist, an optimist and a skeptic would probably do me the best justice. Armed with a sharp wit and a sense of humor often tinged with sarcasm, I enjoy exploring the cerebral and sensuous pleasures that the world has on offer. I distract myself with everything from Calvin and Hobbes to George Orwell; from Led Zeppelin to L Subramaniam; from Satyajit Ray to Al Pacino, and am working towards being able to explore all the interesting details in between, preferably along with a kindred spirit.



When I'm not having a laugh, I tend to value rationality and a depth of thought to support my words and actions. Always game for a wholesome argument, I get put off by bad taste, online chat jargon and religiosity. As far as my interests in life go, I tend to be quite dilettantish, so what takes my fancy tends to be quite varied, but here's a sample of the long-standing ones: classical literature, good food, hedonistic travel, movies (usually drama), popular science books, armchair philosophy, jogging, badminton, squash... it's a growing list! I regularly strangle the cat with my violin, and enjoy a variety of musical genres, including classical, the 70s and jazz, though I must say new age pop and grunge are definite turn-offs.



As for how life's wheels are oiled, I'm an engineer by profession, and an scientist by aspiration. With a Bachelor's from India and a Master's from Germany, I'm now working toward an interdisciplinary PhD in Neuroscience.
